An interesting question for everyone - what exactly dictates a succesful "evolution" of sound when it comes to an established artist deciding to mix it up? And is it a bad thing if they don't evolve at all? The stimulus for this question comes from 2 songs in the past 2 weeks from Paramore and Fall Out Boy.Web Animation Video Studio Both bands were pop-punk/emo back at the height of their popularity in the mid-2000's, but both acts have released singles in the past week that sound drastically different from what the bands fanbases are used to. Paramore went down well - most seem to have accepted that they've "grown up" and the 80's synth/alternative indie mixup that they've conjured works exceptionally well and has generated buzz for the new album.
